Composting

Hello All,

Just go a compost bin and am going to try my hand at composting. I figure I can't really go wrong if nothing else it saves dollars in not having to pay for yard waste pickup.

My bin in the back yard getting sun.

 

I bought it off of Amazon it is the

Greenes Fence RCCOMP36
Cedar Wood Composter,
23.25 Cu ft / 173.92 gallons 

You can by add-ons to make a multi bin system, I plan on getting two more.

 

When reading up on composting I found that you should do layers of dry, wet, dry. So to star I am going to use all the small branches and dry leave from this fallen tree limb.

 

As you can see when next to the bin,
it is a good sized limb.

 

First layer of dry

 

Second layer kitchen scraps 

 

Third layer more dry 

Do you compost?
