This is Me!
I am setting down some random thoughts here about where I want this blog to go and I want to talk about here.
Does that ever happen to you?
So to get something down whether in the order I wanted or not I am just going to start bulleting thoughts.
- Who I am
- Getting healthy
- gardening
- chickens
- building a brand
- family
- retirement
- work
- crafts
So I have been listening to some interesting audio books lately. The one I am currently listening to is Crushing It by Gary Vaynerchuk. It is very inspirational and informational. All about building your personal brand and making a living from that.
I have worked at the library 20 years
before that I worked at a craft store
I just bought a house last year and owe 118,000 on it but will probably pay 4-5 times that when interest is figured in.
I have a pension plan through the library but having to pay for a house and living expenses means that retirement is not in the near future.
I live with my sister who is 12 years younger than me and her 22 year old daughter. Both of them have diametrically opposite personalities.
I just started a little garden, will post about that.
I would like to have chickens as a way to eat more healthy and sustainably.
To get more healthy I could stand to loose 50 pounds give or take a few.
I made a few gluten free dairy free deserts last holiday season.
My sister is gluten intolerant and my daughter can't have gluten, dairy, nightshades, eggs and probably a few other items that I can't think of right now.
I don't do much home cooking, my life before my sister moved in was more frozen dinners and eating out.
I have gotten better about not eating as much processed food but still head to the fast food at least once a week for lunch.
I would like to keep a running food diary here to really see where I need to improve what makes me feel good and what doesn't. And to be honest when I hit of the fast food, like you know telling you hey this is the 3rd time this week that I got the bacon butter jack combo medium with a doctor pepper.
I craft and make cards and other items that I talk about on Iantha's Ink.
I have sold them at craft fairs and one steampunk festival. It is fun but I don't for see that it will pay for retirement.
I would love to create an income stream that would help pay expenses and give me the choice of working a 40 hour a week job or being able to kick back and retire knowing that my side hustle could be my full time gig.
Still haven't worked out what that side hustle is going to be.
- Maybe the crafting
- Selling fun thrift store finds on etsy
- Blogging
- Can a 60 year old be an influencer?
LOL! well one can dream
